San Antonio Pool Management provides pool management, lifeguard staffing services and pool maintenance services across greater San Antonio.
Doug joined the San Antonio Pool Management team in 2020 as President and General Manager. Doug began his career in aquatics and held various positions at the Schlitterbahn Waterpark in New Braunfels, TX. Doug was recruited to handle lifeguard training and supervision at the Wild Wadi Waterpark located in Dubai shortly after graduating from Southwest Texas State University. Doug eventually returned to the US and held multiple leadership and operations positions with Schlitterbahn’s development arm as well as directing operations for the JW Marriot San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa and Schlitterbahn Galveston and South Padre Island. Doug is a highly respected expert in both the aquatics and hospitality industry holding positions with the World Water Park Association, IAAPA, APSP, AIMS International and accreditations as a Certified Pool Operator, Ellis and Associates Lifeguard Instructor, and with the NAUI as a Certified Rescue Diver.
Deidre Casey
Director of Human Resources/Office Manager
Deidre began her career in aquatics with San Antonio Pool Management as a part-time lifeguard in 2004, after graduating with Honors from Texas Lutheran University, where she played basketball and ran outdoor track, while representing her university on the ASC Student-Athlete Advisory Council. The following summer, as a graduate student at Texas State University – San Marcos, she was promoted to a Pool Manager role at one of the San Antonio Pool Management facilities. In spring 2006, she took over the Human Resources Director and Office Manager position. She completed her Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling in 2008, and enjoys working with young people to assist them in capitalizing on their leadership qualities and personal strengths in a manner that promotes team-building. She enjoys live music, a passion sparked by her parents Carol and Tom, and floating the river with friends and family. Her two younger sisters, Amanda and Shelbi, have also worked in varying capacities for San Antonio Pool Management.

Alaina started with San Antonio Pool Management in 2006 as a lifeguard and became a manager her next year. She managed several of our locations as well as taught swim lessons throughout her high school and college years. A San Antonio native, she attended James Madison High School and Texas State University-San Marcos. In 2011, while attending Texas State, she became certified as a Red Cross lifeguard instructor and began teaching our lifeguard courses. She graduated Texas State University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 2013 and began teaching second grade at West Avenue Elementary. She taught for two years while continuing to teach swim lessons and lifeguard classes over the summer. In 2017, she joined our leadership team full time as a regional supervisor. Her current responsibilities include training, mentoring and supervising our lifeguards and gate attendants. In 2018, she furthered her education by completing the Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Trainer Academy as well as the Certified Pool Operator training course.
Josh joined the San Antonio Pool Management team in 2019 as a Pool Technician. Josh oversees our service customers and is responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of the facilities. Josh is originally from San Antonio and is a graduate from Harlandale High School where he excelled in the classroom and on the athletic field. Josh is also a current BA Candidate as he pursues his degree in Business Management.
Our Safety Advisors
As part of The Pool Management Group network, our customers and employees receive the expertise of our internationally renowned Safety Advisors, Dr. Tom Griffiths and the team at Aquatic Safety Research Group. Their expertise is instilled throughout our risk reduction techniques and lifeguard training.
Dr. Griffiths was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame and is a Paragon Safety Award winner for his water safety efforts. He has been awarded the National Recreation and Park Association Distinguished Aquatic Service Award for a lifetime achievement and designated a European Lifeguard Academy Friend of the Academy for significant contributions to preventive Lifeguarding. Dr. Griffiths has also been named to “Who’s Who in Aquatics- The Top 100”, and “Power 25- Top 25 most powerful aquatics professionals in the World”, by Aquatics International Magazine.
Dr. Griffiths has authored more than 300 papers that have been published in scientific, professional and popular journals. He is an external reviewer for the American Red Cross Swimming and Diving publications.
